SANUS PER AQUAM – MODERNITY AND ELEGANCE

Marta Smagacz

Spa proposes not only the opportunity of taking care of the physical health but also the holistic human philosophy. Apart from the developed technologies supporting healthcare, it offers something more; the philosophy of wellness which stresses an integrated attitude towards people and the harmony of body and soul. Spa institutions are sophisticated and luxurious; they don’t resemble fitness clubs with their gregarious, democratic style. Wellness is appreciated for its individualization of services and focusing on particular, individual needs.

KEEPING IN MIND

Małgorzata Nadwadowska

The media-recording of the memory is not a purely theoretical issue. It has its visible embodiments in the form of quite touchable modern museums, in which conclusions have been made from changes that were and are being made in our consciousness by progressive technical development. A good example could be the Museum of Warsaw Uprising which is mentioned by Iwona Kurz (Przepisywanie pamięci: przypadek Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego / The rewriting of memory: the case of the Museum of Warsaw Uprising in “Kultura Współczesna” 3 (53) 2007 quarterly journal) who analises not only the work of the museum as an institution but also the general idea of its individual existence against a background of historical polish conditioning.
